Our property practice primarily covers non-contentious matters however the strong litigation culture at the firm inevitably means that we are involved in dispute resolution when transactions become contentious. In residential transactions the firm advises on the preparation of pre-contract enquiries and contracts for sale and attends to the completion and transfer. In transactions where secured lending is involved the firm drafts all charges, debentures, contracts, closing statements, and relevant transfer documents. In this respect we act for several local banks. If the property is to be purchased by or through a Cayman company we will assist and advise in relation to all aspects of the transaction including, where necessary, the formation of the company. |
